With the rapid growth of technology, cybercrime has emerged as a significant global challenge, encompassing a broad spectrum of criminal activities carried out using digital platforms. These include, but are not limited to, hacking, identity theft, phishing, cyberstalking, and cyberterrorism. As these crimes become increasingly sophisticated, the need for effective mechanisms to investigate, analyze, and present digital evidence has never been more critical. This is where the discipline of cyber forensics steps in, offering a structured approach to uncover and preserve digital evidence, ensuring it is admissible in courts of law. The course, “Exploring Cyber Forensics: Insights from the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023”, is specifically designed to address these pressing issues.

The course is open for anyone who is interested in having comprehensive understanding of the intersection between cybercrime and the legal processes governing the collection and presentation of electronic evidence under the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 (earlier, Indian Evidence Act, 1872). In particular, the course will be helpful for students of law, judges, advocates, police personnel; and in general, to the persons interested in operation, execution and implementation of law.
