School of Law, Auro University is one of the premiere law schools established in the year 2012 at Surat, India. The school aims to develop and deliver meaningful learning experiences for the community by integrating their knowledge of content and pedagogy and creating a learning environment for holistic development of the students. And for over 10 years now, the University has irrefutably remained a leader in the field of legal education in the country. This long-standing record has been possible due to the strong collaborations between legal academics, the Bench, the Bar, and the State Government of Gujarat.

The first National Essay Writing Competition by Auro University serves as a platform for participants to showcase their research and writing skills while engaging in scholarly discourse on contemporary legal issues relating to ADR. The event aims to foster intellectual growth, promote research, and encourage critical thinking among the participants in the field of ADR.

The competition is open to all the UG and PG students of recognised law schools/universities and colleges and research scholars. This provides participants with a valuable opportunity to contribute to the legal discourse and gain visibility for their work.

THEME: Exploring the new age trends and challenges in ADR

MODE OF THE COMPETITION: Online

ELIGIBILITY

  • All the students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degree from any College/University recognized by Bar council of India and/or UGC are eligible to participate in the competition.
  • Co-authorship is allowed up to 2 members only.
  • Cross - institutional teams are allowed

PRIZES

  • First prize: Rs 7,000 and merit certificate
  • Second prize: Rs 5000 and a merit certificate
  • Third prize: Rs 3000 and a merit certificate

E-certificates would be provided to all participants.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  1. The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman, font size 12 and line spacing of 1.5.
  2. Headings should be size 14.
  3. All text should be justified.
  4. The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 and line spacing of 1.
  5. The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th ed.) should be followed for footnoting.
  6. The authors may include tables and diagrams, which should be numbered consecutively and included in the text. Source must be mentioned below the table.
  7. The manuscript should be error-free, original and plagiarism-free, with a maximum of 10% similarity allowed.
  8. Essays will also be checked for AI-generated content as use of AI is strictly prohibited.
  9. Manuscript must contain a cover page, which must include the title of the article and details of the author(s).
  10. Word limit: 1000-1500 words.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  1. The language/ medium of the article shall be English.
  2. Soft copies of manuscripts are to be uploaded in PDF format through the Google form provided.
  3. The name of the file should be saved in the name of the author/ authors.

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

Interested candidates are required to register by providing the requisite details of the author(s) through the completion of the registration form.
