13th NLIU-INADR International Mediation Tournament Hosted By NLIU Bhopal

The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution of The National Law Institute University, Bhopal is hosting the 13th edition of the NLIU-INADR International Mediation Tournament, 2025, scheduled to take place from 28th to 30th March 2025. The tournament is being held in collaboration with the renowned organization, the International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR), reiterating their commitment to foster awareness and excellence in alternative dispute resolution. INADR is an organization dedicated to promoting the principles and practice of dispute resolution globally. Established in 2002 to enhance the awareness and effectiveness of alternative dispute resolution, INADR serves as a platform for professionals in the field to collaborate, share knowledge, and develop best practices. The tournament shall witness participation from universities at both national and international levels.

The tournament shall be preceded by 3 Training Sessions taken jointly by Mr. John Lag and Mr. Dennis Favaro. The training sessions shall allow for participants and ADR enthusiasts alike, to acquaint themselves with contemporary issues prevalent in the practice of negotiation. Mr. Lag is a respected figure in the world of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and a long-time supporter of INADR. With extensive experience as a mediator and educator, Mr. Lag has been instrumental in promoting mediation as an effective and peaceful method of conflict resolution. Mr. Favaro is a distinguished member of INADR and a passionate advocate for ADR practices. With years of experience in mediation and conflict resolution, Dennis has contributed significantly to the development and promotion of ADR on both a national and international scale.

On the second day, the participating teams shall tackle three Preliminary Rounds wherein each team member shall undertake the roles of Client, Counsel and Mediator, playing all the three roles at least once. The scores from the preliminary rounds shall culminate in the selection of the top 4 teams that will proceed to the Semi-Final Rounds, and the highest scored teams from each semi-final round shall proceed to the Finals. The teams shall be adjudged by highly qualified and experienced professionals in the field of ADR. The event is supported by numerous collaborators including Equi Law Partners, Mediate Guru, AIADR, the PACT, ASCL, LiveLaw, and Katcheri.
