Institute of Objective Studies: Call For Papers [ISSN 0971-3220; RNI No.21106/89]

The Institute of Objective Studies (IOS), New Delhi, publishes Journal of Objective Studies (JOS) in regular currency since 1989.The journal is biannual journal which is a Peer Reviewed and Refereed Journal and running in to more than 30 years of publication. It is committed to strengthen its multifarious research activities and to enlist wider participation in the ongoing scholarly discussion on issues of vital social concern. The IOS accords particular importance to the study of the Muslim situation on account of its realization that it has scarcely been objectively studied and analysed. The Journal of Objective Studies entertains contribution from scholars and students of social sciences and humanities whose researches reflect a normative and ethical orientation. It encourages the publication of different points of view so that an objective analysis of various aspects of social concern could become possible. The objectives of The Journal broadly include:

1. To promote research studies on basic conceptual issues.
2. To provide a forum for scholarly discussion on social, political, economic and humanistic issues.
3. To promote and publish empirical studies on the issues relevant to minorities in general and Muslims in particular.
4. To encourage ethical and moral orientation in social research and facilitate the publication of such studies.
5. To strengthen communal harmony, human brotherhood, fair play and justice in India through its publications.
6. To inform public opinion in a constructive and socially useful manner.

Notes to Contributors

The Journal welcomes contributions from all interested students and scholars of social sciences, humanities and languages, law and governance, religion and philosophy. It fosters interdisciplinary research with emphasis on moral values and ethics in scholarship and methodolology.

Articles: The Journal welcomes contributions from all interested students and scholars of social sciences and humanities. The size of contributions should not exceed 6000 to 12000 words and ample space as margins at each side of the page should be left. Typing of both text and footnotes should be double-spaced. Footnotes should be numbered consecutively. A 100-200 words abstract along with 5-8 keywords which summarize the main ideas of the paper should be submitted by all contributors. The full name of the writer, his present affiliation and complete correspondence address should be included.

Notes & Comments: Short notes on specific topics should be of high quality. They will be referred to specialized scholars as all other articles. The size of such notes should not exceed 3000 to 6000 words.

Research in Progress: This section is designed for academic input and exchange of views in the process of research. Statements should be explicit and well documented and should clearly indicate research goals. The size of Research in Progress should not exceed 2000 to 4000 words.

Reviews and Abstracts: Reviews of current books in areas of social concern, of books related to theoretical studies are welcome. Also may be published reviews of early scholarly works which may contribute to an understanding of the present situation would be accepted. Size of such reviews should not exceed 2000 to 3000 words. Books sent for review must be in duplicate.

Mode of Citations: The mode of citation should be APA (APA Format Citation Guide Available at https://www.mendeley.com/guides/apa-citation-guide). The citation should be used as footnote than endnote. How a brief outline is given as under:

Original, unpublished research papers in any core and sub-themes humanities are welcome up to including an abstract of 100-200 words and 5 to 8 keywords. All figures and tables must be prepared in MS Office (Word/Excel). Contributors are cautioned against plagiarism and excessive self-referencing. Figures, graphs, and tables must be used sparingly to avoid repetition of content. All supplementary files such as figures, tables, maps must be provided in MS Office (Word/ Excel) or other editable formats, wherever possible.

The Chief Editor reserves the right to make editorial revisions but no major changes will be made without approval of the author. All responsibilities for opinion expressed and accuracy of facts vests exclusively with the authors and not with the Journal or its editorial board. All correspondence should be sent to the Editor.

The Journal of Objective Studies accepts submissions throughout the year. All articles will be referred to experts in the relevant field for Peer Review and double blind Review as it is a Refereed Journal. The Journal does not have any Article Processing Charges (APC) for publication. The author is entitled to hard copy of the Journal as complimentary copy.
