Call For Papers: NLSIU's Annual Themed Conference On Transformative Constitutionalism
National Law School India University Campus, Bangalore is organizing Annual Themed Conference 2019 (is part of the Bridging Silos Project funded by Ford Foundation) on "Transformative Constitutionalism" theoretically as well as in the context of Indian law and policy.
Theme: Paper abstracts are invited on any topic looking at the transformative nature of the constitution. Papers can include, but are not limited to the following topics:
- Sedition Laws
- Juvenile Justice Act and the Amendments
- Rights of Transgenders
- Reservations in Promotion/Implications of 103rd amendment
- Death Penalty
- Prisoners Rights
- Science and Technology – Data Privacy issues/Surveillance Issues etc.
- Right to Privacy
- Manual Scavenging – Examining the adequacy of the Legal Framework
- Surrogacy Laws
- LGBT Rights and moving forward in the light of Sec. 377 judgment
- Women's equality issues in Private Sphere/Family Life/ Public Sphere
- Adultery Judgment
- PIL – Public Interest Litigation
- Any other area reflecting Transformative Constitutionalism
- The abstract should not exceed 350 words, and must be in the format provided below:
