The Centre for Mediation and Research of Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai is organizing a 'Two Day Advanced Training Program in Mediation' on May 03 - 04, 2025 at their campus in Powai, Mumbai. Mr. Prathamesh D. Popat, senior trainer and empaneled mediator at MCPC, shall be resource person for this program.
The Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, established under the Maharashtra Act VI of 2014, is one of the premier National Law Universities in India. In the recent years, the university has taken long strides in areas of research and has established Research Centers to impart advanced legal education and promote society-oriented research in legal studies.
The Centre for Mediation and Research at MNLU Mumbai endeavors to build resources and disseminate knowledge about the practice of mediation and conciliation in the country. CMR began its journey on 19th January 2019, with an inaugural program at the hands of Justice Abhay .S. Oka, who was then the Chairman of Main Mediation Monitoring Committee at the Bombay High Court. Since then, CMR runs courses for the Certification in Mediation, Conciliation, Conflict Resolution and Collaborative Dispute Resolution.
The program is introduced to equip students and working professionals with an array of skills and expertise in the world of mediation. Regardless of one's professional calling, mediation can be a significant game changer in dealing with legal issues, ensuring interest of both the parties in the dispute alongside providing a swifter dispute resolution mechanism. With the skill sets it promises, the program will bolster participants'social and professional standings and make them more valuable personnel to the organizations and brands they represent. The program has been designed by a highly skilled resource person, making the structure highly professional that will touch upon all the key aspects of mediation, conflict management, and resolution. However participants are expected to know the basics of mediation processes for smooth understanding of the session, but no specialized course or practice is required to be undertaken to attend this program.
