SC Refuses To Interfere With The Selection Process Of The West Bengal Central School Service Commission For The Appointment Of Assistant Teachers - 11 SLPs Dismissed.
In a very significant development, the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India refused to interfere with the selection process for appointment to the posts of Assistant Teachers in the State of West Bengal conducted by the West Bengal Central School Service Commission during the period 2013 – 14. Several hundred unsuccessful candidates had approached the Hon'ble Apex Court challenging the Orders passed by the Ld. Single Judge and Ld. Division Bench of the Hon'ble High Court at Calcutta dismissing the challenge.
After a detailed hearing, the Hon'ble Supreme Court dismissed eleven Special Leave Petitions filed by the several hundred unsuccessful candidates finding no ground to set aside the selection process. Today's decision would provide much-needed relief to over 29,000 candidates who had been appointed through the selection process which had been under challenge before the Courts for the past 9 years.
