Madras HC Judge, Justice S. Palanivelu passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday. He breathed his last at around 4:05 am at Apollo Hospital.

Justice Palanivelu hailed from Sankarankovil, Tirunelveli District, and graduated in Law from Madurai Law College. After having practiced independently for some time, he was recruited as a Sub-Judge in February, 1989. He made his way to be appointed as Registrar (Administration) at Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, where he worked for a year.

Subsequently, he was posted as Principle District Judge, Madurai for eight months, and Registrar General, Madras High Court for a little more than a year, before being appointed as a Judge at the Madras High Court in March, 2007.
