Essential Qualification and Experience

Policy Advocacy Officers

• Applicants must have a master’s degree in social sciences or law with adequate knowledge of forest, land and wildlife laws, policy, and institutions, and a minimum of one year of rural field experience.

• Ability to analyze and document policy, and case laws, and write case studies from field insights.

• Conduct fieldwork in rural areas independently.

• Ability to coordinate with government and civil society groups across India, and organize training and capacity-building programs independently.

• Basic skills in Excel, SPSS, GPS and GIS

• Must be well-versed in English, Hindi and any one regional language.

Research Officer

• Applicants must have a master’s degree in social sciences or law with adequate knowledge of the forest rights act, forest laws, policy, and institutions, and a minimum of one year of rural field experience.

• Ability to coordinate with government and civil society groups at the district and local levels in Maharashtra, and organise training and capacity-building programs on forest rights and policies for government officers and Gram Sabha members independently.

• Conduct fieldwork in rural areas independently.

• Good in analysis, documentation on policy, case laws, write case studies from field insights.

• Basic skills in Excel, SPSS, GPS and GIS

• Must be speaking and writing Marathi.
