Government of Tamil Nadu Public (Law Officers) Department invites application for the post of Law Officer at High Court of Madras and its Bench at Madurai.

Name of the Post: Additional Advocate General, Special Government Pleader, Additional Government Pleader, Government Advocate (Civil side), Government Advocate (Criminal Side), and Government Advocate (Taxes).

Essential Qualification and Experience

Additional Advocate General and Special Government Pleader

• A degree of Bachelor of Law from a University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section-3 of UGC Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.

• As an advocate having practice of not less than ten years, out of which a minimum of not less than seven years in the High Court.

Additional Government Pleader

• A degree of Bachelor of Law from a University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section-3 of UGC Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.

• As an advocate having practice of not less than seven years, out of which a minimum of not less than five years in the High Court.

Government Advocate (Civil side), Government Advocate (Criminal Side), and Government Advocate (Taxes)

• A degree of Bachelor of Law from a University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section-3 of UGC Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.

• An advocate having practice of not less than five years, out of which a minimum of not less than three years in the High Court.

• Interested candidates are required to submit in their application in the prescribed format and shall submit it to Secretary to Government, Public Department, Secretariat, Chennai - 600 009 on or before 22.07.2024
