The Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA) has registered its name in the Limca Book of Records on two accounts.
Firstly, it has created a record by disbursing over Rs 127.54 crore to 5,578 employees of the Universities of Jharkhand. The grievances included non-payment of arrears of 5th and 6th Pay Commission, post retirement dues etc. As per the certificate, the task was contemplated and executed within a period of six months.
JHALSA has also made a record for inaugurating Legal Literacy Clubs in 500 schools of the state, covering Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), Eklavya schools and Model Schools among others. These literary clubs impart primary knowledge of law to the children of these schools. The plan was contemplated and executed by JHALSA in six months.
