A special CBI court in Mumbai on Tuesday ordered the Byculla prison authorities to produce the main accused in Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea, on Wednesday as she filed an application through her lawyer, informing the court that she was beaten up by the jail authorities in Mumbai’s Byculla prison.

In her application, Indrani claimed that she was beaten up by the Superintendent and other jail officials for protesting against the “murder” of one Manjula Shetye, who died in custody.

An FIR has already been lodged against six jail officials by the Nagpada police for Manjula’s death.

These jail officials reportedly assaulted her in a brutal and inhuman manner.

They have been booked under Sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The said application stated: “She was verbally abused by jail officials and the Superintendent and was threatened of sexual assault for protesting against the cold-blooded murder in custody.”

The application also stated that Indrani wishes to lodge a complaint against the jail officials, and other inmates were also willing to do the same.
