The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), New Delhi bench of Ashok Kumar Bharadwaj (Judicial Member) and Reena Sinha Puri (Technical Member) today heard a petition filed by Nona Lifestyle, seeking to initiate the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) against Zomato for alleged non-payment of dues of Rs. 1,64,83,194.

In 2023, Zomato had placed orders for rider t-shirts, trousers, and World Cup jerseys. Nona Lifestyle claimed to have manufactured and partially delivered the goods. Zomato delayed payments and refused to accept the orders. The company accused Zomato of returning deliveries due to storage problems and using “threats and warnings” to get discounts. Nona Lifestyle also alleged that Zomato rejected the remaining World Cup jerseys, which were custom-made for it.

The tribunal directed Nona Lifestyle to clarify its next course of action, noting the existence of a pre-existing dispute on both facts and the alleged dues. The case has been adjourned to April 3.
