A Seven Judge Bench headed by the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court declared that the strike by Lucknow HC bench lawyers as illegal and issued directives for its immediate withdrawal.
Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court on Saturday suspended Judicial Officer Ankit Goel, who had slapped sedition charges against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in October last year. The Judge has been suspended for irregularities and acting beyond his jurisdiction. He has been found prima facie guilty of “indiscretion in carrying out judicial work” and an inquiry has been ordered against him for further action.

A Bombay High Court Division Bench in a PIL asked the Centre to take appropriate decision regarding amending section 192 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and corresponding Central Rules (pertaining to fitness certificates) within three months to bring in a more stringent penalty which will act as a deterrent for those vehicles found plying without fitness certificates.

A Division Bench of Delhi High Court on Tuesday rejected a petition filed by the State Government against an earlier order of the single Judge, which had stayed the State Government’s circular that had scrapped many criteria for nursery admissions, including management quota.
A Division Bench of the High Court allowed screening of a documentary film on the victims of violence in the Kashmir Valley, “The Textures of Loss”, without any deletions but with a disclaimer. Upholding the Single Judge Bench verdict, the court held that the film should carry a disclaimer that it does not intend to hurt or defame any person, community or institution. The court was disposing off the Writ Appeal preferred by the Central Board of Film Certification.
