Bombay High Court

Delhi High Court

Kerala High Court
The Kerala High Court clarified that merely because an application for permanent permit (not renewal) is pending consideration, temporary permit cannot be granted.

Gwalior Bench of the High Court on Tuesday set aside a slew of directions passed by the Single Judge of the Court, on the procedure to be followed when a couple opts to marry through the Arya Samaj. These included making it the responsibility of the management of the Arya Samaj Mandir to issue notice to the parents of the couple, invite objections, verify their age and residential address, and maintain documentation and visuals of the entire process.

Madras High Court
Madurai Bench of Madras High Court reversed a lower Court’s order granting permission to the hereditary trustees of a religious endowment to sell immovable properties that had been endowed in 1907 for conducting rituals in various temples.

Punjab & Haryana High Court
The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Saturday upheld the minimum age criterion of 17 years prescribed for taking the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to MBBS/BDS courses. Justice Rakesh Kumar Jain ruled that taking the test without fulfilling the age criteria would only amount to exhausting of a chance.

A week after restraining the State Government from purchasing luxury items for failing to equip government-run schools with minimum facilities, the Uttarakhand High Court on Friday vacated the order, but permitted luxury cars to be bought only by the approval of the Chief Secretary to the State. The Chief Secretary has been directed to record the necessity for buying luxury cars in the State on a case to case basis.
