The Supreme Court Collegium comprising Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Sanjiv Khanna, has recommended the names of two Judicial Officers for appointment as Judges of the Patna High Court.

In its resolution dated October 17, 2023, the Collegium stated that the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court in consultation with his two senior-most colleagues recommended the elevation of the two judicial officers as Judges of the High Court of Judicature at Patna, and that the Chief Minister and the Governor of the State of Bihar have also concurred with the recommendation.

The two Judicial Officers recommended for elevation as Judges of the Patna High Court are as follows:

(i) Shri Rudra Prakash Mishra, and

(ii) Shri Ramesh Chand Malviya.

The resolution further states that the inter se seniority shall be fixed as per the existing practice.
