The Supreme Court Collegium comprising Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Sanjiv Khanna, has recommended the names of four advocates for appointment as Judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

In its resolution dated October 17, 2023, the Collegium stated that the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court made the recommendation in consultation with his two senior-most colleagues, and that the views of the Chief Minister and the Governor of the State were also placed in the file about the suitability or otherwise of the above candidates.

The four Advocates recommended for elevation as Judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court are as follows:

(i) Shri Vinay Saraf,

(ii) Shri Vivek Jain,

(iii) Shri Ashish Shroti, and

(iv) Shri Amit Seth.

The resolution further states that the inter se seniority shall be fixed as per the existing practice.
