Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Kerala High Court today (September 26, 2024) at 10 am at Raj Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram.

The oath of office was administered by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was also present during the swearing in ceremony. 

Justice Jamdar was appointed as a judge of the Bombay High Court on January 23, 2012. He is a legal luminary in administrative and constitutional law and played a pivotal role in computerizing the Bombay High Court and championed digitization. He is also passionate about natural history and photography.

The Supreme Court Collegium recommended the appointment of Justice Jamdar as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court on July 11. On 21 September, the Central Government notified the appointment of His Lordship as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.
