Three judicial officers swore in as Additional Judges of the Kerala High Court today. 

Justices Johnson John, Gopinathan U Girish, and C. Pratheepkumar took oath as Additional Judges of the High Court during the swearing-in ceremony conducted at 10:15 A.M. today. 

The Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, had recommended the names of five Judicial Officers for appointment as as Judges of the Kerala High Court. 

In its resolution dated October 10, 2023, the Collegium stated that the Kerala High Court Chief Justice, had recommended the elevation of the five judicial officers, in consultation with his two senior-most colleagues, and that the Chief Minister and the Governor of the State had also concurred with the recommendation.

These included M B Snehalatha; Johnson John; G Girish; C. Pratheepkumar; and P. Krishna Kumar.

The Centre however, only cleared the appointment of three of the five judicial officers, last week.
