Prominent Malayalam film actor Jayasroorya has approached the Kerala High Court seeking anticipatory bail in connection with sexual abuse allegations made against him after publication of the Justice Hema Committee Report.

Jayasroorya apprehends arrest under Section 354 A (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment) and Section 354 D (stalking) of IPC. Crime was registered against him at Kootattukulam police station in Ernakulam.

The complainant alleged that the actor attempted to outrage her modesty while acting in a film together between 2012-13.

The actor has denied all the allegations, claiming that shooting of the film alleged by the complainant was completed in the year 2011 itself. It is alleged that the complainant has fabricated the allegations against him and the crime was registered by the investigating officers at least after a delay of more than 11 years, without verifying its truthfulness.

He further submits that he was unable to execute his vakalath since he is abroad and was unable to obtain FIR to defend himself. It is submitted that he will reach India only in third week of September and that he may be enlarged on bail if he is arrested.

The plea has been moved by Advocates S Rajeev, V Vinay, M S Aneer, Sarath KP, Prerith Philip Joseph, Anil Kumar CR, K S Kiran Krishnan.
