The Karnataka High Court on Thursday directed that the look-out notice issued against Developer Sushil P Mantri and his family members be kept in abeyance and not acted upon.

A single judge bench of Justice Hemant Chandangoudar passed the order on the petitioner filed by Mantri. It took into consideration that all further proceedings in the criminal cases registered against the petitioners have been stayed by the high court.

The petitioners had questioned the lookout circular issued by the Bureau of Immigration following a request made by the Cubbon Park Police Station. The police acted on the complainant-house buyers' complaints against the company Mantri Developers and the petitioners after they did not complete the housing project, hand over the project within the stipulated time or return the money paid by the home purchasers.

The high court had earlier quashed the investigation in one of the cases registered against the developer.

Similar complaints registered at different police stations were challenged by them before the high court which has stayed all further proceedings registered therein.

Accordingly, the court directed that the LOC be kept in abeyance. It directed the Cubbon Park police to inform the Bureau of Immigration about the order passed and disposed of the matter.
