The Karnataka High Court has suggested an estranged couple to seek blessings & guidance on their marriage from His Holiness Shri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji of Shri Gavisiddeshwara Mutt, Koppal.
A division bench of Justice Krishna S Dixit and Vijaykumar A Patil interacted with the couple in court and said “Both the parties are highly educated, and our interaction has convinced us that they come from good cultural backgrounds. They also agree that in any marriage there are bound to be ups & downs.”
It added “They happily agreed with the suggestion of this Court that they should seek some blessings & guidance from a tall person. Together they have rightly chosen His Holiness Shri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji of Shri Gavisiddeshwara Mutt, Koppal. This is a happy development happening in the Court Hall.”
Accordingly, the court directed “In the above circumstances, we pray His Holiness Shri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji to bless the couple and advise the parties as to what should follow their marital difference/dispute. Parties are directed to see His Holiness on 22.09.2024, after ascertaining his availability & convenience.”
The court also directed the Registry to send a copy of its order to His Holiness Shri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji of Shri Gavisiddeshwara Mutt, Koppal, by speed post immediately and by e-mail as well. A carbon copy of this order be handed to both parties.
The husband had approached the court challenging an order of the trial court dismissing his divorce petition and allowing the petition filed by the wife under Section 9 of the Hindu Marriage Act and directing restitution of conjugal rights.
