Kidnapping Case: Karnataka High Court Permits Bhavani Revanna To Enter Her Native Districts Of Mysuru, Hassan For 15 Days

The Karnataka High Court on Thursday relaxed a condition imposed in the anticipatory bail order of Bhavani Revanna, and permitted her to enter her native districts of Mysuru and Hassan for 15 days.

In its order dated June 7, the court had while granting interim anticipatory bail to Bhavani in connection with a kidnapping case, had directed her not to hover around Hassan and KR Nagara of Mysore district.

The condition was imposed after the Special Public Prosecutor Professor Ravivarma Kumar argued that “She is the mastermind of the crime and let her not enter Hassan and KR Nagara district.

Bhavani sought complete relaxation of the condition, stating that none of the other accused in the case were saddled with such a condition. The Court said it consider the same on January 9, 2025 but in the meantime, "petitioner is granted relaxation of 15-days operational from tomorrow to enter into two districts Mysore and Hassan. It is made clear that if there is violation of conditions imposed during granting bail, it will be viewed seriously.

As per the prosecution, the complainant's mother had worked for Bhavani for about six years and was kidnapped by Satish Babanna on Revanna's instructions, to protect her son Prajwal. Complainant said his friend brought to his notice a viral video allegedly pertaining to the sexual assault on his mother and when he requested Babanna to send his mother back, the latter declined to do so.

The complaint was lodged on May 2 at KR Nagara Police Station.
