In a recent circular, the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has addressed a concerning trend among its officers and officials seeking permission to appear in competitive examinations or pursue further studies after submitting their application forms.

The circular, dated 25-07-2023 issued to this effect emphasises the importance of seeking permission prior to submitting examination or admission forms. The court has urged all officers and officials to adhere strictly to this procedure to avoid serious consequences.

"It is hereby impressed upon all the officers/officials of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh who desires to apply and appear in any competitive examination or intend to pursue further studies to seek prior permission from the competent authority before submitting their forms to the concerned quarters. Any deviation thereof shall be viewed seriously", the notification reads.
