While hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) plea objecting to a Haryanavi Song ‘Court Me Goli’ as being against the integrity of the Indian Judiciary, a bench of Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal and Justice Aniruddha P. Mayee today said that it would be watching the video of the song to decide the future course of action in the matter.
The bench remarked thus in a PIL plea moved by one Umakant Rajaram Chauhan through Advocate Kuldip P. Solanki seeking a stay on the display of the song. The song, available on YouTube, was released in December last year under the label of Vats Records.
Before the Court, the counsel for the petitioner submitted that the video shows a criminal saying that he would shoot people in the full courtroom view in the presence of the Judge making him sweat. It was further submitted that such incidents (shooting in courtrooms) have happened in various parts of the country.
Having heard the counsel for the petitioner the Court sought a translation/transcript of the video song and told him that it would be watching the same and then decide the case.
With this, the Court posted the matter for further hearing on October 19.
The song, sung by Rahul Puthi & Ashu Twinkal, stars Ankit Baliyan & Fiza Choudhary. Lyrics have been penned by Rahul Puthi.
