The Central Government has notified the appointment of three advocates as Judges of the Gujarat High Court.

The three advocates are:

  1. Sanjeev Jayendra Thaker,
  2. Deeptendra Narayan Ray and
  3. Maulik Jitendra Shelat

A notification issued in this regard states:

In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (i) Sanjeev Jayendra Thaker, (ii) Deeptendra Narayan Ray and (iii) Maulik Jitendra Shelat, to be Judges of the Gujarat High Court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their appointments as Judges in August this year.
