'Mitti Cafe' Now At Gujarat High Court, Chief Justice Emphasizes On Institutional Commitment To Inclusivity And Empowerment At Inaugration
Gujarat High Court Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal on Monday (November 25) inaugurated 'Mitti Cafe' on the High Court premises.
The Mitti Cafe, a unique project, aimed at fostering inclusivity by empowering individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities, is operated entirely by specially-abled staff, providing them with employment opportunities after specialized training in managing a cafe.
This marks another milestone for the Mitti Cafe initiative, which was also introduced in the Supreme Court premises last year on November 10 by the then Chief Justice of India, Dr. DY Chandrachud.
During the inauguration at the high court premises, Chief Justice Agarwal emphasized the institutional commitment to inclusivity and commended the staff for their excellent performance during the initial stages of the initiative. The project has also received financial support as part of corporate social responsibility initiatives from the State Bank of India and the Dalmia Charitable Trust. The project was also provided assistance from Kapila and Nirmal Hingorani Foundation and FICCI FLO.
The inauguration event was attended by all Judges of the High Court, the Advocate General, lawyers, and officers, who lauded the initiative and enthusiastic staff as they embarked on their professional journey.
