Justice Navin Chawla vacated the interim order passed on September 02 directing Baxi and other social media handles to delete tweets against Dua regarding the interview. Baxi then filed an application against the order.
Baxi in his tweet said “Two medals at the Olympics? Sure. Rohan Dua meanwhile “You are on of the most attractive females- beautiful females- in India's history of Olympics.”
The court orally remarked that there was nothing defamatory in Baxi's tweet and that it was his opinion which he is entitled to have.
Advocates Soutik Banerjee and Devika Tulsiani appeared for Baxi. Advocate Raghav Awasthi for Rohan Dua.
Awasthi told court that he will delete Baxi from the suit.
The development ensued after Dua filed defamation suit against Baxi and others seeking removal of their tweets against him regarding his interview with Bhaker. It was his case that the social media posts were defamatory in nature.
He said that the posts are not only defamatory in nature but also create a negative impact not only on him but also on Bhaker.
