In A First, Delhi High Court's 'Disaster Recovery Centre' For Regular Data Backup Inaugurated At Madras HC's Madurai Bench

In a first, Disaster Recovery (DR) Centre for the Delhi High Court, for having a live backup of all the data and applications or softwares, was inaugurated today at the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court.

The Centre was inaugurated by Madras High Court Chief Justice Sanjay Vijaykumar Gangapurwala and Delhi High Court judge, Justice Rajiv Shakdher, who is also the Chairman of the I.T. & A.I. Committee.

Delhi High Court judges, Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Sanjeev Narula, were also present in the inauguration ceremony.

The Disaster Recovery Centre will have the facility of smooth connectivity and will ensure safety and security of data of Delhi High Court and district courts in the national capital, in the event of any untoward incident within its premises.

In case of inaccessibility of onsite data due to any unforeseen circumstances, the Delhi High Court will immediately start its functioning by connecting from Disaster Recovery Centre at Madurai.

One unit of high-end NetApp Network-Attached Storage (NAS) has been installed at the Server Room within the premises of the Delhi High Court and the second unit of NAS at its Disaster Recovery (DR) Centre has been installed at the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court in Tamil Nadu.

The Centre will make sure that the Delhi High Court continues its functioning even in the face of disasters such as natural calamities, cyber attacks, or infrastructure failures.

It will help the Delhi High Court to maintain access to critical data and services, allowing the courts to function without prolonged downtime.

In case of a disaster, the DR Centre can facilitate a quick and seamless transition to backup systems, which will minimize downtime, ensuring that court proceedings and services can resume promptly.
