Cash For Jobs Recruitment Scam: Calcutta High Court Directs CBI To Produce Hard Disks Containing OMR Sheets From 2014 Teachers' Eligibility Test
The Calcutta High Court has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to produce the hard disks/electronic servers used to store the results of the 2014 Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) in the ongoing probe into the mulit-tier cash for jobs recruitment scam being monitored by the High Court.
A singe bench of Justice Rajasekhar Mantha held:
This Court directs the CBI to apprise it as to whether the original servers/hard discs where the original OMR sheets were scanned and stored in digital form are available or have been seized by them. It is submitted that the said original OMR sheets of all candidates who sat in TET 2014, were duly scanned and stored and subsequently deleted by the agency appointed by the Board. The Board shall, give access to any medium where the scanned original OMR Sheets were stored.
Several high-ranking officials from thee West Bengal government and education system have been implicated in the case since the probe began. These include former education minister Partha Chatterjee, former MLA Manik Bhattacharya and many others who have been in custody for more than a year.
Accordingly, the Court listed the matter on Friday for the CBI to submit the hard disks as called for by the Court.
