On Tuesday, Calcutta High Court judge Justice Tirthankar Ghosh remarked that he had suspended the appearance of advocates over video-conferencing (VC) in his court, due to a lack of decorum and 'ill-behaviour.'

 "Virtual I have suspended because of the ill-behaviour of the advocates. I have stopped that...nobody is taking care. Buses going on, other person shouting. People are doing matters from Barrackpore court. Abusive languages behind...therefore I directed the Registrar, IT to suspend any participation of lawyers virtually."

These remarks were made in a case where Advocate General Kishore Datta and former DSG Billwadal Bhattacharya were appearing.

Bhattacharya stated that he was being led by Senior Advocate Siddharth Luthra who would be appearing online. However, the court informed him that the virtual appearance of advocates had been suspended.
