The Andhra Pradesh High Court took up proceedings to monitor and fast-track the cases filed against MLAs & MPs, following the directions passed by the Supreme Court,

The division Bench comprising Justice U. Durga Prasad Rao and Justice M. Kiranmayi took up the matter on Thursday and adjourned it to Monday (11.12.23) due to the unavailability of the Advocate General.

The Special Bench that has been formulated, will monitor the cases pending against public representatives by creating a list of all pending cases and passing appropriate orders, as per the directions passed by the Supreme Court in Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay v. Union Of India and others (9th November 2023)

At the start of the month, similar special benches were formed in the High Courts of Telangana, Punjab & Haryana.
