The sections must espouse the utmost composure while dealing with the learned counsel. AII officers/officials must deal with learned counsel, politely and their manner & etiquette must reflect appropriate humility," the notification states.
The issuance of this office order is prompted by recent incidents where the registry received complaints about the alleged discourteous conduct of its officials.
Further, the Registrars and Joint Registrars have been asked to conduct briefing sessions to cultivate the right manner and etiquette among officers. The directive aims to prevent incidents leading to complaints about the rude behaviour of the registry officials toward HC advocates and clerks.
Additionally, a direction has also been issued that training sessions be undertaken by Registrar (J) (Criminal), Registrar (J) (Litigation) and Joint Registrar (J) (S&A), to sensitize the staff dealing with counsel, preferably on the third Saturday of February.
