The Supreme Court Collegium consisting of Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Sanjiv Khanna, have recommended Adv. Siddhartha Sah and Adv. Alok Mahra. for appointment as Judges of the High Court of Uttarakhand.

The Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court in consultation with his two senior-most colleagues had recommended the elevation of the above Advocates as Judges of the High Court on On 12 July 2023.

The Collegium in its statement has said that it has considered the views of the Chief Minister and the Governor of Uttarakhand while making the said recommendations and found that they were 'fit and suitable for appointment' as Judges of the High Court.

"In order to ascertain the fitness and suitability of the above candidates for elevation to the High Court, we have consulted our colleague conversant with the affairs of the High Court of Uttarakhand," the Collegium said in its statement.
