Centre Notifies Appointment Of Advocate Kaushik Goswami As Judge Of Gauhati High Court

The President of India has appointed Adv. Kaushik Goswami as an Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court.

In October this year the Supreme Court Collegium consisting of Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Sanjiv Khanna, had earlier recommended Adv. Kaushik Goswami for appointment as Judge of the Gauhati High Court.

The Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court in consultation with his two senior-most colleagues had recommended his elevation as Judge of the High Court on 29 May 2023.

“All the four consultee-Judges have unanimously given positive opinion on suitability of the candidate for appointment as a Judge of the High Court. The inputs provided by the Department of Justice in the file indicate that his professional competence is viewed to be good and nothing adverse has come to notice against his integrity,” the Collegium said while recommending Adv. Kaushik Goswami for appointment.
