The President has issued notification today constituting High Court of Andhra Pradesh seated at Amaravati to function with effect from January 1, 2019.

The Supreme Court had observed on October 29 that there was no legal impediment in bifurcating the the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad into the High Court of Telangana and the High Court of Andhra Pradesh. The SC said that it expects a notification bifurcating the courts into the High Court of Telangana and High Court of Andhra Pradesh to be issued by January 01, 2019.


Today's notification is in furtherance of the SC observations.

With the constitution of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, the following Judges will cease to be judges  High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh since they have opted Telengana HC as their parent High Court.
(i) Justice RameshRanganathan(presently working as Chief Justice of High Court of
Uttarakhand)
(ii) Justice Chagari PraveenKumar
(iii) Justice Sarasa VenkatanarayanaBhatti
(iv) Justice Akula Venkata Sesha Sai
(v) Justice Dama SeshadriNaidu (presently working on transfer as Judge, High Court of Kerala)
(vi) Justice Mandhata SeetharamaMurti
(vii) Justice UpmakaDurga PrasadRao
(viii) Justice Talluri SunilChowdary
(ix) Justice Mallavolu SatyanarayanaMurthy
(x) Justice Gudiseva ShyamPrasad
(xi) Justice KumariJavalakar Uma Devi
(xii) Justice Nakka Balayogi
(xiii) Justice Smt. TelaproluRajani
(xiv) Justice Durvasula Venkata Subramanya Suryanarayana Somayajulu
(xv) Justice Smt. KongaraVijaya Lakshmi; and
(xvi) Justice Manthoj Ganga Rao.

The following Judges shall cease to be the Judges of the common High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad and shall become the Judges of the High Court for the State of Telangana with effect from the lst  day of January, 2019, namely S/Shri:-
(i) Justice Puligoru Venkata SanjayKumar
(ii) Justice Mamidanna Satya Ratna Sri Ramachandra Rao

(iii) Justice Adavalli Rajasheker Reddy
(iv) Justice Ponugoti Naveen Rao
(v) Justice Challa Kodandaram Chowdary
(vi) Justice Bulusu Siva Sankara Rao
(vii) Justice Dr. Shameem Akther
(viii) Justice Potlapalli Keshava Rao
(ix) Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili
(x) Justice Todupunuri Amarnath Goud ;

It is further stated in the notification that Justice R.Subhash Reddy, who was a Judge of the common High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad and who has been elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court of India, had exercised the option for allocation to High Court for the State of Telangana.
