GNLU organizes an Exhibition titled “1857: The First Spark of Independence” and introduces the first of its kind blog on Legal Heritage
Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) Gandhinagar, in collaboration with Victoria Memorial Hall, Kolkata, is organizing a fortnight-long exhibition titled “1857: The First Spark of Independence”. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Air Marshal Daljit Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of SWAC Gandhinagar on March 18, 2014. The Exhibition will go on till April 12, 2014. The Exhibition willdelineate the story behind the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 through replicas of lithographs and photographs of the original artefacts preserved in Kolkata.
Alongside the Exhibition, GNLU, in a unique academic endeavour to promote and augment the discussions and deliberations on legal history, has introduced the first ever blog on Legal Heritage. It is an earnest attempt to preserve, sustain and cherish the legal heritage of India and other nations and to shore up the endeavour to preserve the rich history of India. Apart from featuring articles, notes and timelines on the topics related to legal history, the blog would also serve as a discussion forum on matters and issues related to legal history.
