First National Academic Law Fest DROIT MELANGE 2018 Organised by Department of Laws, Panjab University [Jan 31 and 01 Feb, 2018]

The Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh has completed 120 years and is celebrating the same by launching its first ever National Law Fest- “DROIT MELANGE”  being organized from 31^st January and 01^st of February. This initiative is taken by the Extra Co-Curricular Moot and Debate Committee of Department of Laws, Panjab University. This event is aimed to hone the overall development of students aspiring to join the legal profession. The trailblazing event will consist of plethora of legal as well as cultural events.

 Date: 31^st January, 2018 and 01^st of February, 2018.

Venue: Department of Laws, Chandigarh.

The following events will be a part of the Law Fest:

1. Open Debate


2. Client Counseling


3. Law Quiz


4. Maxim Bee


5. Treasure Hunt


6. Slam Poetry


7. Skit


8. Cultural Event : Fashion Show


9. Cultural Event : Band performance

The teams will be registered on ‘first come first served’ An institution can send different teams for the events.

he registration is restricted to 50 teams onlyfor Open Debate, 30 teams for Law Quiz and Maxim Bee, 30 teams for Client Counseling.

The last date for provisional registration and accommodation (if needed) for all the events is January 17^th, 2018 and for the final registration and confirmation (soft copy only) is January 22^th, 2018. Participants are requested to send an email confirming their participation on the provisional basis on

• The area of interest for Law quiz are Constitutional Law, Personal Laws (Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Jewish), Laws of Contract (Sale of Goods Act, Special Contract Act), Law of Torts, Consumer Protection Laws, Company Laws, Criminal Laws, Environmental Laws, Property Law (Tangible Property and Non – Tangible Property), Labour Laws and Medico – Legal Laws.


• The theme for client counseling is related to Personal Laws, Laws of Contract, Consumer Law, Criminal Laws and Constitutional Law.

Attractive prizes will be awarded to the winning teams and individuals
