The Supreme Court of India invites application from eligible advocates examination for Advocate-on-record to be held on 6th 7th 8th 9th of June 2017.

Eligibility

Advocates with minimum 1 year continuous training on or before 30th April 2017 are eligible for taking the exam. However, applications will only be accepted on production of requisite certificate of training from an advocate as per regulations regarding advocates on record examination.

Last Date of Application

The last date for submitting an application is 27th April 2017(during working hours) to Secretary, Board of Examination.

Absenteeism & Number of Chances

Candidates who remain absent from the examination without giving reasonable cause in writing may be issued Show Cause Notices as to why their case should not be put before the Board of Examination. However, absence will be presumed as non preparation for the exam and according to regulation 5(b) any further opportunity shall be made available not before a prescribed minimum time period except with prior permission from the chairman of the Board of Examination.

A candidate who is unsuccessful in all the papers of the examination will not be eligible for sitting in the next examination.

A candidate can avail maximum of five chances and appearance in a single paper shall be considered a chance.

Result & Re-evaluation

As per the regulations of the examination, candidates will be considered successful on obtaining a minimum of 50% marks in the individual papers and combined aggregate of 60% in all the papers.

There is no provision of re-evaluation of answer sheets. However, any other relief other than in nature of re-evaluation shall only be entertained within the period of 30 days within the declaration of results.
