The Government Law College, Ernakulam is an iconic law school situated in the heart of the vibrant city of Kochi in Kerala. The college previously known as His Highness the Maharajas Government Law College, Ernakulam is celebrating its 150 years of historic glory, a legacy which cannot be claimed by any other institute in Kerala.

The National Moot Court Competition aims to encourage law students to discover and improve their knowledge of law and advocacy. A Moot Court experience enables students to engage with and think deeply about interesting and topical legal issues. The Government Law College, Ernakulam, is the oldest and one of the most prestigious institutions of legal learning in the state of Kerala is a pioneer when it comes to moot court competition, having conducted the famous T.S Venkateswara Iyer Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy All India Moot Court Competition for twenty-one times in the past. This competition had a glorious past as we were privileged to have the finest talents from law schools across the country vying for honours.

With this legacy in hand, we feel extremely happy to invite teams from all around the country to participate to the XXII National Moot Court Competition for Adv. T. S. Venkateswara Iyer Ever Rolling Trophy, 2025.

EVENT FORMAT

Preliminary Rounds: All registered teams shall participate the Online preliminary rounds on 2nd February 2025

Advanced Rounds: The advance round will be conducted on campus at Government Law College, Ernakulam. Top eight teams compete in Quarter Finals. The four winning teams shall advance to the Semi-Finals. The semi-finalist will compete against each other in the Grand Finals.

  • Memorial Selection Results and Intimation : 24th January 2025
  • Last date for Final Registration and

payment of Registration Fee : 27th January 2025

  • Online Verification : 31st January 2025
  • Draw of Lots for Preliminary

& Researcher's interview (Online) : 1st February 2025

  • Preliminary Rounds 1&2 (Online) : 2nd February 2025
  • Scanned copy of travel detail to be mailed : 6th February 2025
  • Inauguration and Draw of Lots : 21st February 2025
  • Quarter Finals 1&2 and Semi-finals : 22nd February 2025
  • Final Round and Valedictory Ceremony : 23rd February 2025

ELIGIBILITY

The competition is open to the Law colleges, Law schools, Law Departments and Law Universities recognized by the Bar Council of India. The participation is limited to undergraduate students in law, both in the 3-year, 5-year and LLM courses presently undergoing regular courses.

MEDIUM OF COMPETITION

The On-Campus Competition shall be held from 21st to 23rd February 2025. The Preliminary Round is scheduled to take place online over two days, from February 1st to 2nd, 2025.

TEAM COMPOSITION

  • Each team shall have 3 members. The maximum number cannot be modified under any circumstances.
  • Each team will be provided a team code, at the time of provisional registration, prior to the submission of memorials via e-mail. This team code will be used to refer to the team for the whole competition.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The team should be present physically for the quarter finals and the following rounds.
  • The team shall pay the accommodation and transport charge (INR 1500/-) upon arrival (applicable only if they are availing the service). The same must be informed earlier during the registration process.

At the time of reception, the team shall submit the following details at the reception desk.

  • A letter from the college authority
  • College IDs (all team members)
  • Three sets of hard copy of memorials (3 copies of Petitioner and 3 copies of Respondent)

REGISTERATION

A team consisting of 3 members may register for the XXII National Moot Court Competition for Adv. T. S. Venkateswara Iyer Ever Rolling Trophy, 2025, via provisional registration link on or before 15th January 2025.
