Justice Surya Kant (Judge, Supreme Court of India) will be delevering the Inaugural AK Sen Memorial Lecture.

About Ashok Kumar Sen

Ashok Kumar Sen was an outstanding Indian lawyer, politician, and has been India's longest serving Union Law Minister. He served as India's Law Minister under Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi, holding office across different tenures from 1957 to 1989. Sen played a key role in shaping several legal reforms in post-independence India.

A distinguished lawyer, he was known for his expertise in all branches of the law and his strong advocacy skills, representing high-profile cases in the Supreme Court. Sen was also a Member of Parliament, both in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, for 4 decades, and contributed significantly to India's legal and political landscape during his career.
