The Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation (IIAM) is celebrating ODR Day by hosting a one-day conference titled, “Redefining ADR – New Opportunities for Justice & Innovation” on 1st December 2024, at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

The one-day conference will have panel discussions, networking sessions on arbitration and mediation – “Streamlining Arbitration: Reforms for Enhancing Efficiency and Effectiveness” and “Mediation as a Tool for Social Justice: How the Mediation Act and Global Standards are Empowering Communities”.

The conference will also witness the launch of few innovative ADR/ODR schemes. The first being the AI powered online dispute resolution platform “Peacegate” which is aimed to improve access to a variety of dispute resolution processes as a new justice system that works at the speed of technology, enabling fast and fair resolutions anywhere within the reach of the internet. The second one is the innovative project “Gateway to Justice” (G2J), establishing “Justice Delivery Centres” (JDCs) within law schools across India and abroad, transforming legal education institutions into centres for the dispensation of justice, enhancing access to justice. The third is the formation of the “Mediators Council of India” with the objective to create a stronger, more cohesive mediation community, focused on Mediators' Welfare and Development for developing a more robust and inclusive mediation ecosystem throughout the country.

The conference promises valuable exchanges and new perspectives on dispute resolution. It will bring together India's top legal professionals, ADR practitioners, scholars, and innovators to share insights on the future of ADR and the potential of ODR in modernizing justice delivery systems.
