All clerks of Advocate-on-Record, Senior Advocate or Junior Advocate, who enter the Supreme Court to assist their advocate, must be present in uniform. The declaration was made by the Executive Committee of Supreme Court Bar Association in its meeting which took place on the 10th of May 2014.
Furthermore, the resolution also said, the clerks must be coached by their lawyers not to occupy the aisle in the court rooms and move out after keeping the briefs/ files/ giving appearances.
It said, "All the clerks who need to enter the court rooms should wear the uniform, which will be sky-blue shirt and navy blue trouser. It was decided that this will be implemented from 30.06.2014 on the reopening of the Court after summer vacation".
The clerks must also show the identity card/proximity card will shall have their name and the name of the advocate whose clerk he is, inside the court room. From 30 June 2014, The dress code as described in the resolution is– pant in grayish blue and shirt in blue and white.
