The circular dated 16/06/2015 issued by the apex court informed about the opening of the facility of the Creche facility i.e. Child Care Centre at the SC which is being set in Chamber Nos. 8 and 9, New Lawyers’ Chambers building located at Bhagwan Dass Road with the guidance of RAK Child Study Centre, Lady Irwin College, New Delhi, for children in the age group of 6 months to 2 years of members of the SCBA (Supreme Court Bar Association) practicing at SC and officers and employees of the Registry. With effect from July 1, the crèche will become functional from 8:30 in the morning till 6:30 in the evening on all working days from Monday to Friday and from 8:30 am to 2: 00 pm on all working Saturdays.
For efficient management and monitoring of the programme, Hon’ble CJI has constituted an Advisory Committee including experts from the field of Early Childhood Development. Trained staff is being hired for looking after the children. The circular says that the Creche will be equipped with child friendly furniture, utensils, toys, first aid and play materials.
A sum of Rs 200/- is to be paid along with a total of 16000/- as admission fee, security deposit (refundable) and care fee per month for each child. The required amount is to be paid by way of pay order or demand draft in favour of “Registrar, Supreme Court of India.” However, the registration fee can be paid in cash. It has been made clear in the circular that it is the responsibility of the parents to pick and drop their children strictly according to the prescribed time schedule of the crèche.
The proforma given below and attached with the circular can be filled latest by 23rd of this month and should be sent to Mrs Madhu Arora, Deputy Registrar, (Secretary, Advisory Committee).
