The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has proposed to introduce e-hearing facility from June, 2017. The facility will enable stakeholders to present their case, during the hearing, through soft-copies of the pleadings.

A stakeholders/advocates interaction has been organized for the purpose on 22 May, at 15.00 hours. Those interested in participating in the discussion are required to send an email providing their names at acmis@cercind.gov.in by 19 May.

The CERC is a statutory body, mandated with the responsibilities to discharge its functions under the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003. As a part of the Digital India Initiative, CERC had launched a web-based e-filing portal on 4 April, 2016. The stakeholders and their Counsels now file petitions and submit pleadings online on CERC e-filing portal, after accessing it by entering their login credentials.
