A two Judge Bench of Allahabad High Court comprising of Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice Dilip Gupta dismissed a Public Interest Litigation  (PIL No.24899/2014)seeking a change in the uniform of the girl students.

Petitioner Mr. Pradeep Kumar Srivastava  filed the petition in public interest which sought for a change in the uniform of the girl students. His grievance was about the dress code for girls, against wearing  skirts.

The Bench expressed displeasure about the underlying notions which have led to the filing of the petition and observed that there is nothing wrong or improper about such dress code for girl students and that if at all anything needs to be changed then it should be the mindset of people and not the dress code.

While dismissing the petition Court has observed that the petition amounts to thorough abuse of the process of the Court.
