MNLU Mumbai: MoU Inked To Enhance Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness And Filing For MSMEs In Maharashtra

    The Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Ltd. (MSSIDC) (A Govt. of Maharashtra Enterprise) and Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai (MNLU Mumbai) has came together to sign a flagship Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

    Represented by its Joint Managing Director, Smt. Farogh Mukadam, MSSIDC, entered this significant agreement with Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Ukey, Vice Chancellor, MNLU Mumbai. The purpose of this MoU is to conduct Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Workshops across all 36 districts of Maharashtra. The MoU will also play an important role in leveraging geographical indications for Maharashtra's products.

    In light of this collaboration, Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Ukey expressed his gratitude to Shri Rajendra Nimbalkar, IAS, the Managing Director of MSSIDC. He emphasised that this joint effort would foster innovation, encourage ideation, and facilitate the incubation of new businesses and entrepreneurship ventures across Maharashtra.

    Smt. Farogh Mukadam, while underscoring the importance of collaboration, reiterated the shared vision of both organisations to empower MSMEs with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate the intricacies of intellectual property rights. She emphasised that IPRs are crucial for the growth and sustainability of small-scale industries, which form the backbone of Maharashtra's economy.
