Justice Suryakant Inaugurates State-Of-The-Art Moot Court Hall At Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat

    The inauguration ceremony of the State-of-the-Art Moot Court Hall at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat, marked a significant milestone in the advancement of legal education and practice. The ceremony, held under the esteemed patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Archana Mishra, Vice Chancellor, was graced by Justice Suryakant, Judge Supreme Court of India as the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony. The Prospectus for LL.M. (2 Years Course) and Ph. D. (Law) courses at the University were also released.

    In his address, Justice Surya Kant emphasized the significant role of moot courts in shaping the legal acumen of students. He said, "In the present competent world in the field of law, Moot Court is a place for enriching the practical skills among the law students. We have to compete globally for the same, good practical skills are essential. The lawyers must know what to argue and what not to argue and learn how to conduct themselves in court."

    The event brought together a distinguished gathering of legal luminaries, including Dr. Rajiv Mani, Secretary, Legislative Department, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India; Sh. Vineet Garg (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education, Haryana; Dr. R.C. Mishra (IPS), Managing Director, Haryana Police Housing Corporation; Prof. (Dr.) V. K. Ahuja, Director, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi; Professor (Dr.) Jai Shankar Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law Punjab; Mr. Rahul Goel and Ms. Anu Monga, Partners at AnantLaw; Mr. Rahul Chadha and Mr. Neeraj Prakash, Managing Partner and Partner respectively at Chadha & Co.

    Dr. Rajiv Mani, Union Law Secretary at the Ministry of Law and Justice, lauded the inauguration as a watershed moment for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat affirming, "This State-of-the-Art facility will undoubtedly prove to be a milestone in the institution's journey, as the Moot Court Hall is an indispensable component of legal education and training."

    Echoing the sentiment, Prof. V.K. Ahuja, Director, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, emphasized the significance of legal infrastructure and he appreciated the effort of NLU, Sonepat for putting rigorous efforts in legal Education. He stated that legal infrastructure underscores the pivotal role these facilities play in fostering legal scholarship and practical advocacy skills among students, highlighting their significance in the overall educational ecosystem of a law school.

    Dr. R.C. Mishra, IPS, Managing Director of Haryana Police Housing Corporation, and Professor (Dr.) Jai Shankar Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law Punjab, also embraced the inauguration ceremony of the State-of-the-Art Moot Court Hall and the release of the prospectus for LL.M. and Ph. D. courses.

    In a remarkable display of industry-academia collaboration, Mr. Rahul Goel and Ms. Anu Monga, Partners at Anant Law, announced their collaboration with the University to host the first International Moot Court Competition on Anti-Trust & Competition Laws. Furthermore, Mr. Rahul Chadha, Managing Partner, Chadha & Co., and Mr. Neeraj Prakash, Partner, Chadha & Co., announced their firm's collaboration with the university in hosting the National Moot Court in the second half of the year.
